The Safer GRASSroots Sport project has launched its first newsletter to share updates and the latest news about its progress. To stay informed about all updates, you can subscribe to the newsletter here.
This project aims to support grassroots sports clubs and associations in defining and implementing safeguarding and protection policies and measures for their athletes. Two practical tools for diagnosis and action will be developed:
- An “Online Self-Assessment” tool to evaluate the framework and level of athlete protection in these organizations.
- A set of “Digital Instruments,” which are practical, easy-to-use materials for implementing procedures and measures identified as lacking in the self-assessment process.
In addition to the National Olympic Committee of Portugal, the GRASS project involves the National Olympic Committees of Albania and Slovenia, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Bulgaria, and three expert organizations in sports safeguarding: the Centre for Ethics in Sport (Belgium); Universitat de Vic, Universitat Central de Catalunya (Spain); and Qantara Sports (Portugal).
